Alabaster Mosque Islamic Architecture,
The Mosque of Muhammad Ali stands within the walls of the Citadel in Cairo; it is the largest and grandest of the four mosques. The facade, domes, arches and minarets one of the most ancient mosques in Cairo. The building was designed by a Greek architect and built in the middle of 18th century. Mohammad Ali Pasha was the king of Egypt, not a famous boxer ;) the mosque is a grave tomb for the pasha as well. Alabaster material was extensively used during the construction so it was named alabaster after all. The mosque location makes it one of the most tourist visited landmarks in Cairo.
