1. What is a Limited Edition?
A limited edition print is an original image limited to a predetermined print quantity. The edition is signed and certified by the artist and individual prints are always numbered. The numbers on the print denote the individual piece number in the edition over the total edition size. For example, 3/100 is the 3rd print in a series of 100. A limited edition is a series of identical prints, which are limited to a one-time printing of a certain number of pieces. The artist determines the size of the edition, and signs, numbers each individual piece.
2. What does 'S/N' mean?
S/N is a symbol used to indicate that a limited edition has been signed and numbered by the artist himself.
3. Will the value of a limited edition increase like other collector's items?
By their nature of being limited in number, demand for certain limited edition prints can be greater than the number of reproductions produced for the edition. Once an edition is sold out, which means that the print is no longer available from the publisher but may still be available from an authorized dealer, the prints are considered to be on the Secondary Market. This means that the print can be bought and sold by any dealer or individual, often above issue price, depending on supply and demand
4. Why does it take longer to get a Limited Edition print than it does to get a poster?
We print each limited edition upon immediate demand. Therefore, we must take printing and shipping time into account.
5. What is an Artist's Proof, or what does A/P mean?
A small group of prints set aside from an edition for an artist's or printer's use. Typically some of the first prints pulled from a limited edition of prints, they are marked as an A.P. and left unnumbered. Artist's proofs generally draw a higher price than other impressions.
6. Why are Limited Edition prints so much more expensive than other prints on the site?
The premium price of limited editions is a function of the limited supply of each product, and the exceptionally high quality of these prints. Typically, the more manually intensive the process is the more each limited edition print will cost.
7. Is the image on your site accurate to what I will be sent?
We strive for a high degree of image accuracy. However, in some cases, the visual representation may be approximate. Occasionally, minor modifications occur between printing runs. If you are not satisfied with the product you receive, you may return it within 30 days for a replacement.
8. How accurate are the item dimensions listed on your Web pages?
We verify the dimensions of all images on our site, but due to industry standards sizes can vary slightly. If you are not satisfied with the product you receive, you may return it within thirty (30) days for a replacement.
9. What is a print?
A print is a graphic image that has been duplicated one or more times. There are various techniques used to create a print, such as digital printing serigraphy (or silk screening), lithography, etching, and offset printing. Prints, especially limited editions are considered fine art and can be highly valued.
10. What is an original?
An original work is considered to be an authentic example of the works of an artist, rather than a reproduction or imitation.
